Story of our factory

Story of our factory

When the word "sustainability" started to be used by everyone, I began to question whether simply using organic cotton or recycled materials truly defined sustainability. After reflecting on what sustainability means in its essence, I came to the conclusion that it lies in the factory's ability to continue operating for the long term, attract more workers, and regain its vibrancy. For this to happen, it is essential that working at the factory provides a stable environment for employees and that the factory itself continues to be recognized as a valuable entity.

During the leadership transition from the previous president and factory manager, we discussed such a vision for the future and found that we shared common values. It was through these conversations that the idea emerged to install solar panels and operate the factory using renewable energy. However, at that time, there were numerous obstacles, and the idea seemed like nothing more than a pipe dream.

Then, something unexpected happened. The factory was struck by a fire and burned down completely. We faced a significant crisis as we lost the factory that had produced the core products of Anonymous Ism, and the possibility of shutting down became very real. Yet, thanks to the support of many and the strong demands from our business partners, the factory was able to restart.

As we formulated new business plans for the restart, the idea of running the factory on renewable energy, which we had discussed in the past, began to seem feasible again. After overcoming various challenges, the installation of solar panels was completed this February, and this season's AW24 collection was produced using machines powered by solar energy.

We do not know how much the value of a factory utilizing renewable energy will be recognized by people. However, in an era where more factories are closing due to an aging workforce, we believe it is crucial not only to make products but also to embrace new values and carry forward the spirit of craftsmanship. We are committed to upholding this philosophy together with the factory and passing it on to the next generation.
